On 21 June 2017, Ottonova (www.ottonova.de), the first newly formed comprehensive health insurance since 2000 in Germany, was launched. The enrollment of new clients at the private digital health insurance takes place exclusively online, as well as communications with the client. The all-electronic focus is designed to enable the insured person, inter alia, to have a personal electronic medical record and shall reduce administrative costs.
