M-real Corporation (Finland) and M-real Zanders GmbH have reached a settlement with the works council of factory Gohrsmühle (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) before conciliation board relative to upcoming restructuring of the company for paper industry.
M-real Zanders GmbH and the works council of plant Gohrsmühle negotiated a part-closure of the factory including reorganisation and restructuring as well as staff downsizing, inter alia, using a transfer company. Additionally, provisions have been agreed to establish a business park concept.
The complex transaction was divided into two phases, which included, in addition to coordination of interest agreements and social plans, an agreement on the establishment of a voluntary conciliation board.
