Axel Springer SE has announced the strategic decision in favour of a new corporate structure. Axel Springer SE is to become a family-run media company owned by Friede Springer and Mathias Döpfner. The Classifieds business is to be run in independent joint venture companies by KKR and CPP Investments as majority shareholders. Axel Springer SE will participate as minority shareholder. The transaction is expected to be agreed in the coming months and, subject to all necessary regulatory approvals, completed in the second quarter of 2025.
